About Us
Rural Outreach Vision (ROVI) is a registered community-based organization (CBO) located in Terego District which is dedicated to empowering rural communities through fostering sustainable development by supporting education, health, environmental conservation, and socio-economic empowerment within the local and refugee communities.
ROVI is founded on the desire to enhance the quality of life through a holistic approach that focuses on both immediate needs and long-term development initiatives in the communities by providing access to essential resources, education, and support services.
Championed by community (People) centered founder members, ROVI is committed to the believe that by fostering local leadership and encouraging community involvement, we can create resilient and thriving environments. Through targeted programs and partnerships, ROVI aims to address the unique challenges faced by the rural populations particularly in Terego District, West Nile region and Uganda at large by ensuring that every voice is heard and every need is met. Together, we aspire to build a brighter future for our rural communities.

We offer a variety of programs and services that promote sustainable living and environmental awareness. From community clean-up events to educational workshops, our programs are designed to inspire action and create change.
Our Programs and Activities
REVItransformative operations and activities are informed by an array of programs strategically designed to usher in relief to the vulnerable and marginalized persons suffering from both human-induced and natural catastrophes. the current programs ran by ROVI include, Education Programs, Agriculture and Environment Programs, Social and Economic Empowerment Programs.
1. Green film festivals: Screen environmental issues documentaries and films to bring in discussions and providing solutions to the short comings.
2. Volunteer Environmental cleanup: Organizing environmental cleanup with other local organizations or the community to achieve self-involvement in improving environmental sustainability
3.Green team challenge: Dividing the employees into teams and giving them eco-friendly task to be completed within some time frame fostering sustainability and team work
4. Environment sustainability run: The run will help to create awareness since this will come up with different Eco-friendly activities package involving other different Environmental organization.

Education: Securing Tomorrow’s Generation (SDG) 4
ROVI, with cognizance of the importance of education in shaping a sustainably bright future, and the unfortunately overarching illiteracy trends not only in Terego District but West Nile region and Uganda at large, aims to improve uptake of educational services across rural communities as a foundation to transforming Terego District.
ROVI with Support from founding members undertakes supportive activities in education to motivate enrolment and completion rates at different education levels. These activities have been piloted in Terego District with primary and secondary schools.
At ROVI, we believe education is the foundation for a brighter future. Our educational programs support both local and refugee students with a focus on creating equal opportunities and overcoming barriers to education.
Education Program Activities
Support to Needy Students
We provide scholarships and other educational support to the most vulnerable students in the community, including refugees and local children who lack the resources to pursue education. This helps to improve not only the particular students but also encourage those able to pick interest in education and achieve the same successful story.
Provision of Scholastic Materials and Extracurricular Activity Kits
ROVI supplies school essentials such as textbooks, notebooks, and extracurricular activity kits to ensure students have the tools they need to succeed both academically and in extracurricular pursuits and it has brought in competition amongst the learners to excel since the best performing ones always walk with extra.
Promotion of Games and Sports
We encourage holistic development through the promotion of games and sports, fostering teamwork, leadership, and physical health among students and this has promoted unity not only among the learners and teachers but also schools within as they meet for healthy competitions in different games.
Support for Girl Child Education
Recognizing the challenges posed by teenage pregnancy and bullying, ROVI advocates for the return of young mothers to school. Our programs provide support, mentorship, and resources to help girls continue with their education after pregnancy without been stigmatized by those that have not experienced. Regular health activities: health sensitization, different healthy tests are carried to make sure the girl child is aware of her body development changes and able to fit in the community.
Support to Teachers
Teachers are the backbone of education and always need to be updated for brighter future. ROVI supports teachers by offering Educational and social trainings, resources, and incentives to improve the quality of education provided to students.

Promoting Well-being and Access to Care
ROVI is committed to improving health outcomes by offering critical health services, facilitating access to healthcare, and providing necessary health infrastructure in underserved areas.
Health Program Activities
Health Camps
We organize community health camps that offer free medical checkups, treatments, and health education. These camps are vital in reaching remote communities with limited access to healthcare services
Provision of Health Facilities
ROVI supplies essential healthcare items such as hospital beds, mama kits for safe childbirth, medicines, and handwashing equipment to local health facilities to improve the overall health infrastructure.
Provision of Water and Sanitation Facilities (WASH)
Safe water and proper sanitation are crucial for a healthy community. We provide clean water and sanitation facilities, focusing on schools, healthcare centers, and communal areas.
Delivery Equipment
To support maternal health, ROVI ensures local health centers are equipped with delivery tools and equipment, contributing to safer childbirth practices in the community.

Nurturing Sustainable Communities
Environmental conservation is key to the well-being of now and future generations. ROVI's environmental initiatives focus on educating the community and fostering sustainable environmental practices.
Environmental Program Activities
Community Sensitization
We conduct sensitization programs to raise awareness about environmental conservation, climate change, and sustainable practices that benefit the community now and in future. These programs are organized with the help of the local leaders to make the mobilization easy because their own is involved.
Establishment of Nursery Beds
ROVI has set up tree nursery beds to support reforestation efforts, providing saplings that are then distributed to the community. This has helped to supplement on the supply by the National Forestry Authority that is mostly overwhelmed which makes it unreliable. The location of the Nursery bed makes it more easily accessible to the community and time saving during distribution as the seedlings are within the targeted area
Distribution of Seedlings
We distribute tree both fruit and woodlot seedlings to households and institutions. This was done to tackle both now and future Environmental sustainability, wild life and biodiversity conservation, social and economic and health benefits
Environment benefits
Ø Oxygen production: Trees produce oxygen through photosynthesis hence supporting life on earth.
Ø Prevention of Soil erosion: The canopy prevents direct rain drop hitting and the deep-rooted tress hold the soil particles together which protects the soil from easily being washed away by surface running water.
Ø Water cycle: The trees play a big role in maintaining water cycle of an area by absorbing the water from the soil and this water is transported to the leaves with the help of a tissue called xylem then the water evaporates from the leaves through a process called transpiration thus contributing to the water vapor that is important for rain formation.
Ø Air purification: Trees help in absorbing harmful pollutants like CO, NO2, SO2 and Ozone through their leaves. They filter and particulate matter from
air and release oxygen

Ø Food source: Fruit trees offer nuts, leaves and fruits for these wild life
Ø Habitant creation for the countless species is one big important role
Ø Shelter and protection from the harsh weather by shielding the wild life and other species off.
Social and Economic benefits
Ø Noise reduction by acting as natural sound barrier in the area
Ø Climate regulation especially during sunny days, the shades provided cools the area.

Support to SACCO Groups
We work closely with Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) to provide financial literacy, training, and support to boost savings and investment within the community.
Support to Religious and Cultural Institutions
ROVI fosters cultural preservation and social cohesion by supporting religious and cultural institutions through partnerships and community engagement.
Support to Women and Youth Groups
Women and youth are pivotal to community development. We empower these groups through vocational training, mentorship, and access to financial resources for income-generating activities.
